Participation in cultural life, recreation, leisure and sport (Article 30)

Disabled people have the same rights to take part in cultural life as everyone else.

Recreational material should be better accessible.

Cultural activities such as watching television, films and theatres should be accessible.

Disabled people should be able to access places of cultural value such as museums and libraries.

Disabled people should have the opportunities to explore and develop their artistic potential.

Rules and laws should not create extra difficulties for disabled people to access cultural material like books.

Deaf and other cultures are recognised and respected.

Disabled people should be encouraged to participate in mainstream sports.

Disabled people are able to take part in disability-specific sports and leisure activities.

Sports and other leisure places are accessible.

Disabled children should have equal access as well to cultural activities.
