Banks in Jagatsinghpur did not allow people affected with leprosy to open their bank accounts. Swabhiman’s persistent advocacy for six months through writing letters, protesting in front of the bank with PwDs, dialogues with collector, MP, MLA (Erasama) and SP of Jagatsinghpur finally led to the first bank account being opened in Erasama bank.
