Inclusive Education (Article 24)

Sustainable Development Goal 4: Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all. Disabled people have the right to education just like other people.

Countries will make sure disabled people get the opportunity to go to mainstream schools and can keep learning throughout their lives so that:

-
They are able to develop their skills and abilities to realise their worth.
-
They can take their place and participate in the society.
-
They are not excluded from any sort of education system.
-
They can go to good local schools, and don’t have to pay for them, the same as everyone else.
-
Their needs and requirements are met.
-
They get proper support to learn.
-
People can learn Braille and other ways of communicating as needed.
-
Teach people sign language to promote it as a language of the deaf community.
-
Deaf and blind children are taught in appropriate ways.
-
Make sure teachers have the right skills to teach students with disabilities.
-
Provide the right support for disabled people so that they have the option to continue their education as adults.
