Basic Principles (Article 3)

The principles of the present Convention shall be:

​

• Everyone is free to make their own choices

• No one should be discriminated against

• Disabled people should be effectively included in the society like everyone else

• Disabled people should be respected for being different

• Everyone should have equal opportunities. 

• Things should be equally accessible to everyone.

• Men and women should have equal opportunities. 

• Disabled children should be equally respected as they grow up.
